The Dolphin Hotel - Wincanton

Liked our rooms on the comfort of the bed. The location was marvellous, in centre of town! Also, it was 10 min drive from an Anglican church.

Overall, it's ideal place for exploring Wincanton attractions. The location is marvellous and fab, 2 km from an Anglican church. And it's next to the center of town and all the shops. When I am in Wincanton, I like staying here. ...  

The staff here were super friendly n. The room was fine with comfy soft sheets n a nice vibe. I really loved that they consider the environment, especially with the towel washing policies. The food? Wow, just wow,...  

It was just a nice choice for a weekend pause in Wincanton with great value-to-price ratio. The breakfast was surprisingly good, especially the coffee. Remember to check the water pressure before taking a shower.

I had a lovely three-night stay where I enjoyed the delicious breakfast and the cozy hot chocolate waiting for me in my clean room. The sun terrace and relaxing garden area really made it easy to unwind after a busy day. There was a bit of noise in the bar area, but it didn't ruin my overall experience at all. 😊

We explored the area with some awesome fishing and cycling adventures. The room was cozy and the staff was super friendly. The outdoor seating was a nice touch. Highly recommend checking out the evening menu. The meal...  

Enjoyed the lively pub atmosphere with music and local events. Had trouble sleeping due to noise from the pub.

Comfortable stay with great breakfast

It was clean and warm, and I appreciated the plentiful tea and coffee supplies. The breakfast was a standout, with delicious locally sourced options that really made my morning. I was disappointed that the hotel doesn't serve dinner on Mondays, which could be inconvenient .

The staff were genuinely attentive, going out of their way to accommodate my dietary needs at breakfast. The room was comfortable and exceeded my expectations compared to my previous visit to wincanton....  

The stay was comfortable, with soft sheets and a lovely shower. The food was truly the highlight, exceptional quality that surpassed my expectations. I appreciated the warm welcome from the staff, which made my stay even more enjoyable amidst the uncertainties I faced during my trip. I felt right at home and even managed to work on some art during my downtime, which was a pleasant surprise.

Dog-friendly services, interesting local information, powerful showers

Significantly improve noise insulation!!! Consider updating decor and fixtures to enhance comfort!!! Showers had poor drainage, and room maintenance seemed neglected, affecting cleanliness and overall satisfaction!!! Factors like limited dining options could also be diversified!!!

Great hotel with free wi-fi, great dining options, and lovely staff. I remember how they helped me return my lost sim cards during my first stay. I highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

comfortable bed but limited amenities

The room was very clean and the bed offered a great night's sleep. Free parking at the back was convenient and a big plus.

Amenities were somewhat lacking for a higher standard hotel.

Clean, tidy accommodations with a lovely double bed, ample storage, and a kettle for tea and coffee. The full English breakfast packs a punch, perfect for fueling up for the day ahead.

Noise levels spike in the evenings due to the lively pub atmosphere, which can be disruptive for light sleepers. Furniture appears old and uncomfortable, with mismatched tables and chairs adding to a somewhat dingy vibe. The TV size is less than ideal, and some appliances could use a good dusting. Parking signage could be clearer to prevent initial confusion upon arrival.

The room I had was decent for a solo traveler, with tea and coffee-making facilities, made refueling easy. The courtyard offers a relaxed vibe.

I didn't spot any signage for parking until later, made the entrance a bit tricky, but there's free parking nearby, so it wasn't a major hassle. The skylight in my room was a letdown-dirty and positioned too high to navigate comfortably. On top of that, the heavy door leading downstairs had a step that posed a little challenge while lugging my bag. The courtyard can get a bit lively too, as I found myself chuckling with another guest over some reckless driving over the seating area, not exactly the quiet retreat I was looking for.
